By the Organizational Ministries (Viyojitha Prasthanam) of Brother K.V Simon Sir and the meetings conducted in Marammon and Mylapra, the forefathers of Kumbazha Brethren assembly came to know the Lord. Through the follow up meetings conducted by K.V Simon Sir , our forefathers and their families from Orthodox backgrounds, came to the Lord irrespective of a lot of hurdles and shame they endured.1n the year 1923, our assembly was established. Thomas Pangattu, Philipose Kochettukalayil, Matthayichan Kanicheriyil, Thomachan Edakkadambil, Kuttiyachan Edakkadambil, Avarachan Edakkadambil were the initial forefathers in the Leadership of the assembly. Along with them, their families also separated and came to know the Lord.In 1928 a plot of land near Plavelil Junction was obtained for constructing the assembly hall. Before that the members used to assemble in houses and temporary sheds. In 1928 Organization of English Missionary Noel and the Organization (viyojitha prasthanam) of K.V Simon sir united and as a result of that the plot of land was allocated in the name of the Brethren Missionary Noel. In 1948 with the help of English Missionary Noel the Assembly Hall building was constructed.
Abraham Kochettukalayil, K.P Varghese Kochettukalayil, Thomachan Maruthoor, Avrachan Kochettukalayil, Phillipose Phillipose Kochettukalayil, etc.. were the forefathers of the Second generation of the church. In 1944 Evangelist T.J Thomas came with his family and settled in Kumbazha (vadakkupuram), and this was a blessing for the church.During these times T.M Daniel Sir from Pathanamthitta and K.V Koshy from Mylapra came and co-operated with the assembly for its functioning.
In 1975 K.V Philip Ayrookuzhiyil, retired from military and took over the responsibility of the assembly. Also brother T.T Thankachan, P.A Thomas, P.A Varghese were also part of the eldership of the assembly during this time period.In 1989 Brother D.Jacob (Kottarakara) joined as Evangelist of the assembly. On 25th July 2004 a new assembly hall was constructed beside the old assembly hall and dedicated to the Lord.Almost 20 families come and worship the Lord and participate in various assembly activities.
The current Elders and Leadership of assembly include : Brother D. Jacob, Brother Jose Philip, Brother P.A Varghese, Brother P.P Varghese, Brother John Philip.
Assembly Activities:
Apart from these activities, house visit, Gospel meetings, YMEF,Balasangam, and activities in collaboration with Suvisheshalayam Pathanamthitta are being conducted.
